Bring Your Friends to Jesus
A Poem by John D. High
Bring your friends to Jesus,
Lay them at His feet.
They may not have strength,
But He does.
And a compassion that runs deep,
The path to get there may have been steep,
But it will be worth it in the end,
He'll reach out His hand.
Forgive them of all their sin,
And say get up and walk.
He'll be their defense and comfort,
A place of shelter from the storm.
Take them home to see His Dad,
The God of all creation,
Who fights for all His people,
And is invincible in battle.
Together the Father and the Son,
Will shift them from weakness to strength,
From fear and shame,
To a seat at the table.
To dine with the family of God,
To enjoy freedom and love in all its glory.
